  • A man made lake, flooded the town of Munsonville when made.
  • It is a man made lake that was the Sacandaga Valley. in the 1920's it was burned and systematically destroyed for the good of the state. in March of 1930 the gates of the dam were closed and the valley flooded. Munsonville was only one town that was flooded. Osbourne's Bridge, Parkville, Parts of the Town of Day, Conklingville, Batchellerville, Edinburgh, Mayfield and a few others that slip my mind. A theme park, The Sacandaga Park, was also torn down and the grounds flooded. The flooding of the Valley was a great blow to the economy of the region, one that the region is still trying to recover from. However some towns such as Northville have profited from the lake and the unique history of the valley.
  • The Town of Northhampton was largely flooded as well. That which remains above water is split in two. Fish House and Northville are part of the same township.
