Southern Palace

Palace of Nebukadnezar II, partly erected under his predecessor Nabopolassar (626-605 BC), rebuilt under Saddam Hussein to give an impression of the ancient structure to tourists. It is believed that most of the actual palace is buried deep under ground with only about 20% of the area fully excavated.
