Taka Bone Rate National Park is a marine park which includes the Takabonerate atoll islands, located in the Flores Sea, south of Sulawesi island of Indonesia.
The area, which consists of the atoll islands and surrounding marine area was granted national park protection status in 1992. With an area of 530,765 hectares, Taka Bone Rate is the biggest atoll in Indonesia, and Southeast Asia, and the third biggest in the world after Kwajalein Atoll and Suvadiva.

The atoll is of major ecological importance, with rich marine and bird life. The national park is considered to contain some of the world's highest marine biodiversity. According to the Indonesian Department of Forestry the atoll has 261 species of coral, 295 species of coral fish, 244 species of mollusk and other species such as hawks-bill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata)[left photo], Pacific ridley turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea)[center photo], and green turtle (Chelonia mydas)[right photo], and sea turtle (Dermochelys coriacea).

Its topography is very unique, where the atoll consists of clusters of coral reefs islands and reef, forming many islands. Among the islands, there are narrow straits which deep and steep. While on the surface of the reef flat, there are many small pools are deep and surrounded by coral reefs. At low tide, clearly visible and dry land interspersed puddles that formed small pools.

Plants located in coastal areas dominated by coconut (Cocos nucifera), sea pandanus (Pandanus sp.), sea pine (Casuarina equisetifolia), and ketapang (Terminalia catappa).
coral-reefs that have been identified are total of 261 species from 17 families including Eydouxi pocillopora, Montipora danae, Palifera acropora, Porites cylindrica, Pavona clavus, Fungia concinna, and others. Most of the types of coral reefs have been formed atoll (barrier reef) and the reef edge (fringing reef).
There are about 295 species of reef fish and various species of fish consumption of high economic value such as grouper (Epinephelus spp.), skipjack (Katsuwonus spp.), napoleon wrasse (Cheilinus undulatus), and baronang (Siganus sp.).
244 types of mollusks including lola (Trochus niloticus), goat head shells (Cassis cornuta), triton (Charonia tritonis), batulaga (Turbo spp.), giant clam shell (Tridacna squamosa), pearl oysters (Pinctada spp.), and hollow nautilus (Nautilus pompillius).

It's a best place to explore 15 islands in the Park, by diving, snorkeling, and other.
