It's Goa, you moron! And it STILL is called Panjim. And if your head is not spinning already:
It has been spelt as Panaji since the 1960s, and is also called Ponnje in Konkani.
Get your facts right before posting things here.

Which idiot posted the description? It's Panaji officially and Panjim in English; Ponnje in Konkani as mentioned above. Just because you can't pronounce a diphthong (OA) doesn't change the name to Gova! The correct spelling and pronunciation is GOA!
Also, Goa is the second smallest state in India. Sikkim is the smallest.

I have heard this over and over again Goa for goans. U have all the right to call it ur place by no one gives u right to prevent people from coming.
Frankly FYI smarts goans are all over the world except in Goa!!! and dare u say goa for goans.

Could not help noticing the animosity here - it is a shame that folks have to be so parochial as to feel anti immigration - look at a country like USA, which is pretty much built by immigrants - and as to calling a city in different language, we do it all the time in several languages - India's hindi name would be bharat (originally) for instance - also, London is Londres in Spanish or New York is Nueva York - The Japanese don't call Japan in Japanese they call it Nihon, and so forth...
