St Mary's Church, Shinfield (Shinfield, Berks)

Beautiful parish church dating back in part to 1069. Survived the Civil War when the spire was destroyed by canon fire. There is a brass plaque commemorating the parents of Mary Mitford, the local author(Mary lived in Reading then Three Mile Cross {where there is a blue plaque to her on a house on the old Basingstoke Road} then Swallowfield and is buried in Swallowfield).
