    The lake is a bird sanctuary so the use of gas powered outboard motors is not allowed. It takes about 20 minutes to get from one end to the other in a 10 to 12 foot car topper type boat with a 12 volt 40lb thrust trolling motor . Top fish species is pike and there is a healthy smallmouth bass, perch, crappie, and minnow population. The lake is shallow so no diving birds like loons but ducks and geese abound. There is usually 2 pairs of nesting swans present each season.
