This former army base (Bryan Air Force Base) was established in 1942 but only active until 1961 when it was sold to Texas A&M University. For many years, it was the Riverside Campus, with TEEX (Texas A&M Engineering Extension) and Texas Transportation Institute being its major anchors. In May 2016, it was announced that it would become the "RELLIS Campus" (named acronym for the Texas Aggies’ core values of respect, excellence, leadership, loyalty, integrity and selfless service) which would renovate the campus and also become an auxiliary campus of Blinn (specifically for those on a track to entering Texas A&M).

Comments

  • Was Bryan Army Air Field/Bryan Air Force Base from 1943-1961 involved in pilot training.
  • There's an abandoned railroad spur in there somewhere. It hooks up to the mainline. You can roughly make out the ROW as it connects.
  • I bet those mounted animals from the Flag Room are still here.
