On the highlands spreading out on the mild mountainsides of Mt.Nasudake (Mt.Chausudake) scatter several hot springs including Nasu Yumoto, Kita, Omaru, Benten, Takao, Yawata and Shin-Nasu forming the Nasu Hot Spring Resort (Nasu Onsenkyo). The center of the spa resort is the Nasu Yumoto Hot Springs with a history of more than 1,300 years which was originally opened as a therapeutic bath spot but has now turned into an amusement and therapeutic spa resort. A drive through the Volcano Highway connecting Nasu Yumoto Onsengai (town) and Mt.Nasudake provides a grand scenic view and great refreshment.
