Seaside town on Cork Harbour and largest settlement on Great Island. It has a rich maritime history, being the last port of call of the doomed Titanic and the site of the first Yacht Club. It was also the port many Irish emigrants used for passage to America and Australia.
Formerly known as Queenstown to commemorate Queen Victoria's visit in 1849. The name was changed to Cobh in 1922.
