8-story, 88-room luxury hotel completed in 2005. Designed by Matt Markowitz with interiors by Samantha Crasco and lighting by L'Observatoire International, it is clad in light brown brick. At the corner, the facade features a curved bay of glass rising to almost the roof line. At the 7th floor, the brickwork is patterned, and features small, decorative, circular metal panels between each main window bay. On both of the facades, the outer two bays are topped by an expanse of huge, slanting glass skylights covering the 6th & 7th floors. A set-back penthouse floor is on top.

The site formerly had a warehouse and parking facility, which was demolished in 1989. The hotel is partly owned by the actor Robert De Niro. The enduring revelation is the Shibui Spa, where the lantern-lit pool glimmers under the beams of a 250-year-old Japanese farmhouse.
