Saurashtra University was established on 23rd May 1967 by the Gujarat State legislative assembly act with the mission to provide an educational face lift to the economically downtrodden region of Saurashtra. In more than three decades of its performance the University and the region have come a long way. It covers 7 major districts of Saurashtra region. It provides one of the most modern and sophisticated infrastructures in the region for higher studies, with all major Departments having their own buildings and other facilities. At present, Saurashtra University has 154 affiliated colleges and 2 recognized institutions functioning under it. The University campus situated on the posh University Road locality in Rajkot is spread across approximately 500 acres (2.0 km²) of lush green land with almost all Departments connected with road. The University has 27 PG Departments. It has 3 modern PG hostels accommodating 225 students along with a huge central library. Almost all Departments have their own customized library. It has a common senate hall, a canteen, a medical check up center, staff quarters and an employment information and guidance bureau. The university has been awarded 4 star rating by the NAAC.

  • Third rate third class University! infact classless university! There are lot of malpractices and partialitis in existance related to examination paper evalluations. This is the worst and the most disgusting place to be on the entire earth! The staff is highly rude and unproffessional and corrupted.
