The 12 acre site for Moltrup Steel Products Company is quietly nestled along the CSX railroad and the banks of the placid Beaver River in Beaver Falls, PA. The town's history is deeply rooted as a steel-making center and has been the home to football's famous Joe Namath. The derelict property stands at the southern end of the Rails-to-Trails bicycle path. Moltrup Steel is a supplier of cold finished bar products, but the Beaver location closed in 2002 when a competitor purchased and acquired a large portion of the company's assets.

The current brownfield site is on the environmental watchlist as toxic chemicals, including sulfuric acid, are being released into the environment although land restoration is a high priority for the community. In 2005, the property was purchased for future redevelopment as residential housing or an addition to the existing baseball field and recreation areas.
