Established 27 March 1918. Designated Fort Eustis in 1923 in honor of Col. Abraham Eustis, War of 1812 hero. The reservation included the balloon training
center at Lee Hall, VA which was consolidated with Camp Eustis on 31 March 1922.

Formerly home to the Headquarters, 30th Brigade Coast Artillery Corps from 1920 to 1921 and 1926 to 1930; the 42nd Artillery Regiment Coast Artillery Corps from 1919 to 1921, the 43rd Artillery Regiment Coast Artillery Corps from 1919 to 1921, the 52nd Artillery Regiment Coast Artillery Corps from 1919 to 1921, the 53rd Artillery Regiment Coast Artillery Corps from 1919 to 1921, the 51st Coast Artillery from 1921 to 1930, the 52nd Coast Artillery from 1921 to 1929, the 34th Infantry, less 1st Battalion from 1922 to 1934, the 1st Sound Ranging Battery from 1921 to 1930, and the Headquarters, Air Service Balloon Training Center from 1919 to 1922.
