A bronze monument to Juan Manuel Fangio (1911-1995), the Argentinean Grand Prix driver who was the first to win five Formula One driver's championships, and arguably one of the world's finest auto racing drivers. He is depicted with his Mercedes-Benz W196 Grand Prix car, which he raced in Formula One in 1954 and 1955.
It was sculpted by Catalan artist Joaquim Ros Sabaté, and they stand at various places around the world: Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires; Monte Carlo, Monaco; Montmeló, Spain; Nürburgring, Germany; Stuttgart-Untertürkheim, Germany; and Monza, Italy.
