Sabastiah سبسطيه
Site of Samaria, the capital city of the northern kingdom of Israel built by King Omri. Until 1948, it contained a railway station that took passengers to Haifa. In 1977, the Gush Emunim movement temporarily occupied the village to promote Jewish settlement of Samaria. The group was awarded Elon Moreh and Kedumim as alternatives. Today, the village is under Palestinian Autonomy control.
