Used to determine the best practices for build roads in the desert. These roads would need to stand up to 200 ton MX missiles being transported on them. This was part of the Multiple Protective Shelter System, often called the "Shell Game System" where missiles would be moved from shelter to shelter keeping the USSR guessing.
