Not really an island, but rather a peninsula created by the draining of Fourteen Mile Creek into the Ohio River. Formerly the site of an amusement park that was destroyed when the Ohio River flooded in 1937. Known as Fern Grove in the 1880's, it was expanded and renamed in 1923.
