Kootenay Crag

Kootenay Crag is one of Nelson's best rock climbing crags. 10-15 routes are steep to overhanging sport climbs with a couple of nice mixed routes. Grades range from 5.10b to 5.12d with the majority being mid 5.11. The test-piece, Nelson Ale, is a short crimpy 5.12d. The best route is either Hempseed Protein (5.11c) or the recently extended Trainspotting (5.11d).
