Artist Anantharama Iyer (Manjapra Gramam)

(Late) Shri. M.V.Anantharama Iyer of Small Village, son of Late Shri. M.V. Venkiteswara Vadhyar lived in this place from 1911 to 2009. Popularly known as Photographer, he was also an able and known Artist and has assisted his Guru (also, father-in-law) Late Artist 'Bharathan' Krishnan throughout the latter's life, in executing some marvelous piece of oil paintings (portraits) which included a 3-years' stay in the Thiruvananthapuram Palace to draw portraits of the then Maharajas (some of their works are still on display in the Art Gallery attached to the Kanakunnu Kottaram). He has drawn portraits of quite a number of persons within Kerala and in other parts of India. During his last stages, the Indian Government, jointly with the initiative of the then Collector of Palakkad through the help of Lalitha Kala Academy, was gratefully rewarding him for his contributions to art.

Wife: M.K.Lakshmi Ammal, who also breathed her last in September 2010 (daughter of Artist Bharathan Krishna Iyer of Mannapra Cheriya Gramam and sister of M.K. Rukmini Ammal who was married to late Sri. M.K.Ramachandra Vadhyar of Puthucode; M.K. Parvathy who was married to late Sri. K.G. Eswar of Kavasserry; and M.K. Bharathan, who was a Central Government servant and is living in New Delhi.

Sons:
1) M.A. Venkiteswaran, alias Mani, (ex-Voltas employee) wife V. Vasantha (d/o. late Sri. Vaidyanatha Iyer of Pollachi and youger sister of late Sri. V. Gopalakrishnan,ex-Inspector in the TN Motor Vehicle Department), living in Bangalore.

Their children/grandchildren:
Anand (Nilgiris Group employee),his wife Bhuvana, daughter Ananya, living in Bangalore.
Vinod (Ethihad Airlines employee), his wife Gayatri, daughter Harini, living in Abu Dabi

2) M.A. Krishna Mani (ex-Birla employee), wife K.S. Rajalakshmi (D/o. Late Sri. Sivaramakrishna Iyer, Hindi Pandit of Rajah HS, Kollengode)
Their only son Rajesh is Hindustan Petroleum employee, at Mumbai.

3) M.A. Rajakumar (Kumar) ex Golden Tobacco employee, wife S.V. Radha (D/o. Sri. S.K. Vaidyanatha Iyer of Thrikkur village)now in Cochin;
Their son, Sarath and daughter Sharanya, both students.

NOW, THE TINY HOUSE WHERE ALL THESE MEMBERS ONCE LIVED HAPPILY, IS HISTORY.....
