Chartered by the State of Maryland in 1918 as a "Special Taxing District," Oakmont includes both sides of Oak Place and the south
side of Oakmont Avenue in Montgomery County. With Old Georgetown Road as the east border and the Ayrlawn YMCA center on the
west, Oakmont covers approximately 18.5 acres of beautiful residential property.

Approximately 145 people live in the 52 homes of Oakmont, representing a diverse mix of ages, nationalities, occupations and
interests. Because Oakmont is literally across the street from the National Institutes of Health, scientists from all over the world are
drawn to our little town.

Oakmont is as charming place to live, with a delightful variety of houses as well as towering trees, flowering shrubs, birds and
flowers reminiscent of the time when the area was a park where Washingtonians enjoyed weekend picnics. In the center of the
community is Daley Lane, a connecting path between Oak Place and Oakmont Avenue that has been beautifully landscaped and
maintained as a park by the residents for public use. Great Community!
