Dr.Marri Channa Reddy Human Resource Development Institute of Andhra Pradesh earlier known as Institute of Administration was established in the year 1976 to serve the general training needs of the Civil Servants of the state. All the state governments in India have set up similar training institutes as per the recommendations of Administrative Reforms Commission setup by Government of India. The Institute was declared as an Apex and nodal agency for all training activities pertaining to Government. Though it was proposed to merge all departmental training institutes into the Institute of Administration, merger could take place only in respect of Accounts Training Wing of Treasuries and Accounts and Audit Training wing of Local Fund Audit departments. The Institute is functioning in its own building campus spread in an area of about 30 acres of land in Jubilee Hills. The Campus also consists of another firm called Centre for Good Governance.
