Mira Rio School is located in Restelo. It’s distributed in two detached houses – Mira Rio I (in Avenida do Restelo, nr.9, that teaches from kindergarden to junior school) and Mira Rio II (placed in the present location, contains the secondary education students).

Mira Rio II owns around 400 students. In secondary school, it offers studies in Sciences and Technologies, Languages and Social Sciences, Economic Sciences and Visual Arts.

Established since 1978, Mira Rio is a private school that belongs to the cooperative Fomento (founded by student’s parents). It is different from other schools due to the fact the students have to wear green uniforms and the method of teaching is personalized.

The motto of school’s emblem is “Mirare impetum fluvii”, latin words that mean “Look at the river’s impetus.” The current head teacher is Dra. Ana Teixeira Dias.
Mira Rio II is served by Carris bus service (bus nr. 751) and by any other buses or trams that pass through Algés square.
