The Elephant and Giraffe are a tribute to the 26 circuses that made Delavan their winter home in the late 1800s. The 11' tall Elephant is a memorial to Romeo who killed 25 horses and five of his trainers over the years. The statues were created by FAST (www.fastkorp.com/) and erected in 1986.
