Humboldt is a great old Portland Neighborhood. It straddles the line between N and NE Portland and is bounded by Ainsworth St. on the north, Skidmore St. to the south, Rodney Ave. on the east, and Missouri Ave./I-5 to the west. Humboldt is blessed with variety having: both young and old residents; long-timers and newcomers; a breadth of socio-economic levels, ethnicities, and lifestyles; many sizes & styles of houses & apartments; and a growing breadth of small business and non-profits. Foot and bicycle travel is common in Humboldt. The centerpiece of the neighborhood is Jefferson High School, founded in 1909.
