Cong vien 30/4 (Bien Hoa City)

Vietnam / Dong Nam Bo / Bien Hoa / Bien Hoa City

This area used to be the property of Ha Noi Parish (Ha Noi – Ho Nai that is).

Before 1975, there was a plan in place, proposed by Father Nguyen Quang Hien and presumably designed by architect Ngo Viet Thu, to build a monument in this particular area to commemorate the event of people’s mass migration from the North to the South in 1954.

This area would have been named something like “Migrated Northerner Plaza” or simply “The Migration Square” (Cong Truong Di Cu) instead of “April the Thirtieth Park” as it is today.
