The Consular Chancery is responsible for all the territory of the Russian Federation, except for the regions of Leningrad (city of Saint Petersburg), Murmansk, Pskov, Novgorod, Vologda and Arcanghelsk and for the Independent Republic of Karelia.

The embassy said it had sought a building in the center of the city with "architectural significance and prestige" before settling on Villa Yakimanka. The "villa" was first constructed in the 1830s and 1840s as two adjacent structures, that later were joined into a single building. Today it is the place to go for an Italian visa.

  • This is not the Embassy. This is the Consulate and Visa Office. It is meant to become a Consulate-General in summer 2008
