"Jai Maa Shakumbari Devi." The presiding deity of this temple is considered to be the Goddess who provides Vegetarian Food to the hungry in times of famines, distress and poverty. ('Shaka' meaning vegetarian in sanskrit) The temple has the Idols of the Godess in the four incarnations of : 1. Maa Shakumbhari Devi 2. Maa Shatakshi Devi 3. Maa Bhima Devi 4. Maa Brambhari Devi. The temple is one of the eight 'Siddh Peeth' Temples associated with the eight places where the bodily remanants of Goddess Durga dropped down from the Heavens when the goddess jumped into the yagna fire in here 'Sati' avataar.

THEY ALL TAKE IT TO THEIR ACCOUNT AND DO SPEND EVEN 10% OF INCOME FOR MAINTENANCE AND PROVIDE BASIC AMINITIES TO DEVOTEES. AS PER RANI DEVLATA IT IS HER PROPERTY AND SHE DOES NOT CALL ANYONE TO COME. THIS IS A FAIMLY BUSINESS WHICH IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTENANCE AND UPKEEP OF TEMPLE ALL GOVT OFFICERS AND LEADERS ARE INVOLVED IN THIS SCAM. SO I REQUEST SOME NGO OR SOME PEOPLE TO COME FORWARD AND THIS THIS GODDESS TEMPLE FROM RUINING. THANKS

  • I visited The temple last week and it was shocking to find road from saharanpur to nearby temple in pathetic condition.It is important shrine and govt should fix this on urgent basis considering the traffic flow on this road.There was too much rush of people at temple with little or no manangement.If Temple authorities,if any exist,cannot fix,better govt steps in and do something.
