Gomso Port was established by building up sea-walls during the Japanese colonial days to send agricultural products and military equipment to Japan. In days past, passenger boats bound for Wido Island started from this port, but nowadays the port functions mainly as a harbor for fishing ships. You can buy fresh marine products harvested from the nearby sea here. To the north of the port is a wide natural salt field 89 hectares in area.
