On this site was a plane crash that changed the world of professional wrestling for ever. The crash involved promoter David Crockett and four wrestlers Tim Woods,Bobby Bruggers, NWA United States Champion and fan favorite Johnny Valentine, rookie wrestler Ric Flair. The pilot was a Vietnam Veteran his name was Joseph Michael Farkas. The crash broke two wrestlers backs Mr.Valentine and Mr.Flair the crash caused the retirement of three wrestlers on that day they were Tim Woods, Bobby Bruggers, Johnny Valentine. Promoter David Crockett and Wrestler Ric Flair were out of action for several months the pilot Joseph Michael Farkas was in a coma he died one year later. Cause of the crash the plane ran out of gas. Footnote Mr. Flair went back to wrestling and won the World belt 16 times no other wrestler has won the belt that many times. In 2008 he was inducted in the WWE Hall Of Fame. The plane was a twin engine cessna 310 the location of the intersection is at Gordon Road and North 23rd street. In 2012 Ric Flair and the four horsemen were inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame to date Mr.Flair is the only person to be inducted twice in the Hall Of Fame.
