bridge, road bridge
Carries Interstate 79 over Neville Island and the main and back channels of the Ohio River. The bridge complex consists of a tied through-arch span along with deck girder approach spans and ramps. At 725 feet, the arch span is the second longest single span in Allegheny County, behind the West End Bridge (755 ft). The span carries six lanes of traffic and accommodates bicycles on the shoulder. The bridge opened in 1976 as the final link in I-79 between West Virginia and Erie.
