Former City Estate of the Bryusov family (Moscow)

In 1686 on this site already there was a new two-story stone mansion named belonging the mother of tsarina Sofia, princess A. N.Lobanova-Rostovskaya. The part of ththis building which remains is in the center of the existing construction.

Prince V.V. Dolgoruky was the next owner. He gave the manor to the niece in 1729 as a part of her dowry upon her marriage to Alexander Romanovich Bruce, the nephew of a known associate of Peter the Great. For many years after that the manor was connected to the Bruce or Bryusov family.

Then the manor belonged to Yuri Vladimirovich Dolgoruky who from 1796 - 1797 was the Moscow military governor, to princess V.F. Saltykova, to the merchant G.I. Veltishchev (the former footman of prince V.A. Dolgoruky, the long-term head of the Moscow administration), before October 1917 revolution, the estate belonged to parquet manufacturer V.P. Paniushev.
