Yes, that's absolutely true. Out in the water, to the right or NW end of the cove, there is a submerged vertical rock wall festooned with Strongylocentrotus purpuratus, that is, the Purple Urchin. Careful going too close...a wave could smash you into this wall. More to the SE or left of this wall there are shallower rocky areas harboring a large stand of Eisenia arborea, that is, the Southern Sea Palm. There are also nice sea grasses and coralline red algae here. Look for the kelp crab in this location. Further SE or left is deeper water with large submerged rocks |
