This was the location of the old fun park with many fairground rides. This was demolished in the 70's due to complaints from residents over parking and noise and was supposed to move to the power station site. The power station site was originally sold to the owner of Alton towers? for £1 on condition the fun park was re-built, it never happened and the park site lay empty for many years.
