Also known as the Fore River Shipyard, this yard was in operation from 1901-1984 when it closed. One of the principal US Navy shipbuilding & repair facilites during both world wars, the yard prodcued many famous ships. The USS Salem, which was constructed at the yard has returned as a museum to the Crusier Navy, and the USS Massachusetts, which is located in Fall River MA as a museum ship was also constructed here.

Currently the yard is not in maritime use, having been sold at auction to an automotive dealer that uses it for vehicle storage.

The Quincy yard has been used as Filmset for the movie The Company Men.
