Pakasaivo is a small (ca. 1 kilometer long) lake in the municipality of Muonio in Finnish Lapland. It's a meromictic lake i.e. water on the surface and at the bottom never mix. Below 12 meters water is totally anoxic and very acid due to hydrogen sulphide. Lake is in a narrow gorge with very steep walls of about 50 meters high. Lake's deepness is unknown but it is assumed to be 60 to 90 meters deep. Circular shape at north end is because of a large giant's kettle. The lake is a popular sightseeing place.
