Designed in 1912 by York and Sawyer for William W. Cook, a lawyer and author of several books on corporate law. His ''Cook on Corporations'' is frequently cited in older law cases. York and Sawyer designed an limestone-fronted house with an open loggia at the top, extensive carving and a lush bronze screen at the ground floor.
