  • Why not include some stuff about the Fire in 1583 and the fact that only 3 building survived the 20-day inferno - The Church, Churches Mansion & Priory Hall.
  • Or the siege in the Civil War: The Royalists knew this town supported Parliament mostly so besieged it during the winter. The river was iced up so the enemy could completely surround it. Then the ice broke, which split the army in two, and it was easily defeated.
