house, interesting place
Originally number 16, Edmund Street, the House That Moved was at threat of being demolished in 1961 to make way for a new road system to be built from the Exe Bridge.
However, archaeologists managed to convince the government to spend £10,000 to have it moved to a new location. It was moved 70m from its old site on Frog Street to its current location on iron rails, and attracted a lot of media attention.
Now it is a home for a bridal shop, Pirouette The Collection. In business since 1980.
