I AM F.C.P.S (SURGERY) I REMAINED STUDENT OF THIS GREAT COLLEGE FOR ONE YEAR, BUT I WAS SO CHILDISH AND FOLISH TO DECIDE TO BE MIGRATED TO OTHER MEDICAL COLLEGE WHICH IS NOT BETTER THAN THIS ONE, BUT I PAID THE HEAVY PRICE OF DOING THIS IN THE FORM OF LOSSING TIME WHICH WAS SPENT IN DOING THIS ,I LOST MY SUSTAINABILTY IN MY STUDIES AND IN MY MOOD. I COULD HAVE BEEN THE POSITION HOLDER IF I HAD NOT INVOLVED IN THIS USELESS DECISION. I REMAINED HAPPY IN THE OTHER COLLEGE IN EVERY RESPECT,ACHIEVED MUCH . BUT I NOW APOLOGIZE FROM QAMC FOR LEAVING HER |

My father A. R. Hye had designed this campus. At the time of inception it was a very challenging proposition. Although he had designed many colleges, added building to many medical colleges, designed hospitals it was the first Medical Campus to be designed from ground zero by a Pakistani Architect.
I remember as a child seeing him work on this project for endless hours. Being the first indigenously designed Medical Campus by a Pakistani Architect it has the characteristics typical in A. R. Hye's style of architecture. During those days air-conditioning was not common.
The design of the building incorporates natural climate control features, such as cross-ventilation, strategic placement of windows, and overhangs and courtyards to create shade. Additionally, the roof vaults, besides providing insulation, also allow the flow of air through the vault roof, bringing down ceiling temperatures. Hollow walls also provide insulation.
As a child I saw many sketches of it and later saw pictures of the finished structure. I would like to get a hold of some pictures of how it currently looks like and present them to my father. He will be happy to see them.

I work in this college as Professor of Surgery. I appriciate the makers of this web page. It is true that this college has always been underestimated. The students of QMC are in no way less than any other college of pakistan.
I will be happy if this this page is used to dissaminate all the recent developments in the institution. I am very happy to tell that we have rcently procured a modren laparoscope and harmonic scalple of department of surgery. The facilities which were only avaiable in private sector will not be offered in the hospital for general public. |

Hi dr. Iam a fan of yours not because of your skills in lap surgery but because of your high quality poetry. I am sure Allama Iqbal would have wanted a lesson from you if he would have been arround at this time! |
