One of the famous churches in Kottayam district. It is known for its stone cross that was cut from a single stone.
It has a history that this cross was to be put in the 'madbaha'(altar) and people found it very difficult to get the job done. They called upon Parumala Thirumeni (Bishop of Parumala, who's now considered as one of the saints) to pray. Upon their request, Parumala Thirumeni fasted and prayed for 3 days. With the grace of God that heavy stone cross was lifted up and placed in the altar.
A similar stone cross can be found in Malayatoor Church also.
