Betti Alveri Muuseum (Jõgeva)

Estonia / Jogeva / Jõgeva / JaamaЯама,, 3b
 museum, wooden, interesting place

Not far from the Jõgeva railway station there is a long, simple, one-story building, which is famous for being the step-home of the poet Betty Alvér, where the poet was born in 1906. Her father was a road master at the time. On the poet’s 85th birthday, November 28, 1991, a memorial plaque was installed here in her honor. Now this house is a museum, where items from the life and work of Betty Alvér are displayed, and the memory of Alo Mättesen is also immortalized here. The creative legacy of Betty Alvér and Alo Mättesen is kept here as exhibits, as well as exhibits related to the city, its surroundings, and their historical and cultural events.
