Ingram Dam

USA / Texas / Ingram /

The dam has an incline of about 45 degrees on the downstream side. As a spillway dam, water runs over the top and algae grows on the downstream side. Locals slide down the dam for entertainment. It's fun as long as you don't want your bathing suit to last very long.

This is a spillway dam. Locals slide down the back side of the dam (which is about a 45 degree angle). Loads of fun for everyone!

Let me add that the dam was built in the 1930's by the Army Corps of Engineers on the Guadalupe River. The dam has an concrete exterior with an earthen core.
