Ekkundi master lived here until he retired. He also stayed at Doddmane (Saraswat house) at Bankikodla on a road to Adigone. After his retirement, he moved to Bangalore.
He originally from Haveri (Dharwar district) retired as a Head Master of Anandashram High School.
He is a great Kannada poet and the recipient of many prestigious awards including the Karnataka Sahitya Akademi Award for poetry. His poem “ Ladak Irali... ondagul nelavidalarevu….” during the Indo-China war was stunning.
