The National and Unversity Libarary is on the edge of the University of Iceland campus in downtown Reykjavík. It's the largest library in the country serving both the purpose of a legal deposit and a research library. It is in a big red building called Þjóðarbókhlaðan (The National Book Barn) which was quite controversial when it was built, but has generally been accepted now, intended to give the impression of a fortress holding the countries greatest treasure.
