The 6045th GSU was activated 16 September 1997 as the Garrison Support Unit supporting Fort Irwin, California. The unit currently provides Command and Control support to the HHC, 6045th GSU, 341st MP CO and the 381st MP DET (I/R Brigade Liaison). The 6045th GSU has previously provided Command and Control support to the 319th Signal Battalion, 368th Military Intelligence Battalion, 114th AG Detachment (Chaplain) and the 51st Military History Detachment.
