one of the most holiest shrines in sikhism where the tenth guru GURU GOVIND SINGH JI who created the khalsa and the form of sikh with hair and beard giving them a new identity and the slogan of making lions out of sheep with the holy nectar or AMRIT as it is called , breathed his last in the human form . THE GURU IS BELIEVED TO BE LIVING IN SPIRIT IN THE TAKHT AND THERE ARE LEGENDS OF HIS HOLY PRESENCE MINGLING IN THE BELIEVERS AND FULFILING THE WORLDLY AND SPIRTUAL DESIRES OF THE MORTALS . The sikhism has a following of more than 2 crores and from diverse cultures and backgrounds and HE IS THE BLESSED ONE who lives there who sacrificed his entire family for the panth , just to teach the way of sikhism or telling his followers to be sikhs or disciples as he wanted them to be .
