  • i am from San Mateo. Very nice place to live except for the traffic!
  • that is my hometown....
  • Moved to San Mateo from the States, it's an okay place.
  • I also live here. And it's pretty nice because the tax here is very very cheap compared to nearby places such as Quezon City or Marikina City, and yet those places are less than 30 minutes away from San Mateo. So basically, it's like you're living in the city but still have that sense of peace and quite of a province type city. Further more, San Mateo has been developing a lot these past few years, so I'm guessing this will be a nice, modern, and quiet little town found near a city with much cheaper tax. What more do you want?

  • MANILA, Philippines—A petition is circulating in San Mateo, Rizal, in a bid to derail the construction of a landfill in a forested part of the town, which would purportedly become the dumping ground of a portion of Metro Manila’s garbage. “We, the people of San Mateo, Rizal, and individuals and members of organizations and groups concerned with the protection of the environment, the health of people, and the development of communities conducive to healthy lifestyles and the future of our children, oppose the construction of a dump in Barangay Maly, Barangay Guinayang and any part of San Mateo,”
