Campo Santo Stefano or Campo Francesco Morosini. Campo Santo Stefano is the largest square in the sestiere after Piazza San Marco, and one of the most cheerful, with several pavement bars (including Paolin, renowned for its pistachio ice-cream). Until 1802, when part of the stand collapsed, this was where the corsa al toro bullfights took place. In the centre is a monument to the Risorgimento ideologue Nicolo' Tommaseo, whose studious habits are suggested by a pile of books rising to the level of his frock coat.
