The former two storey, 24,714 sq. ft., Kipling Grove Public School located on a six acre site, was closed and leased to the private Phoenix Montessori School in 1999. The school served pupils from nursery level to Grade 6 and accommodated approximately 100 day students with an average class size of 20. The school was sold to developers in 2014 and demolished in 2016. The property was redeveloped with 53, three storey townhouses after local residents opposed a previous 104 townhouse proposal.
