Chin Min Institute of Technology was founded in 1985. The river side of Chung-Kang River , Shan-Chu-Hu, Toufen Township , Miaoli County , was selected as the school's site. After several years' planning, it was finally registered on May, 25, 1988 and new student recruitment was started then. Until now, the day-school of five year junior college has a total of five departments and the day-school and night-school of two year junior college has a total of 11 departments. In the meantime, in order to respond to the “Re-circulating education” and “Keep learning for the lifetime” promoted by the government and to provide education chance for people staying on a job, we have founded a subsidiary junior college educational school, a total of 6 departments in it. In the future, our educational goal is going to be combined with local industry to create good academic research environment and a win-win relationship. Eventually, we will head for the goal of becoming a technological university.
